It is very well made and the velvet gives it a rich, luxurious feel. The bodice of the dress is a solid black velvet and then the sleeves and skirt are a chiffon that have both dots and horizontal stripes in velvet running over the surface. The skirt is backed in a black fabric so you get a more layered feel and the fused dots and stripes play off of that layering
