Nie jest to jednak dla algorytmu tak oczywistym i łatwym zadaniem. Często bowiem zdarza się, że Google nie jest w stanie ocenić, co dokładnie znajduje się na zdjęciu, przez co zawartość obrazu nie do końca zgadza się z wpisanym zapytaniem.

Skąd robot wie co znajduje się na grafice?

Jednym ze sposobów wykorzystywanych przez Google do usprawnienia indeksowania, rozpoznawania i wyszukiwania obrazu jest tekst alternatywny (atrybut ALT). Algorytm korzysta wówczas z tagów, które określają tematykę zdjęcia, aby odpowiednio dobrać dla niego miejsce w rankingu grafik. Tekst alternatywny (atrybut ALT) powinien zawierać krótką frazę, która składa się z jak najbardziej szczegółowych informacji.

Ponieważ mają one niezwykłą wagę w przypadku ustalania pozycji w Google Grafika, warto jest opierać opisy alternatywne na starannie wyselekcjonowanych frazach kluczowych, na które prowadzi się pozycjonowanie całej witryny.

Dodatkowym elementem, który niewątpliwie ułatwia dopasowanie konkretnych zdjęć do zapytania, jest uzupełnienie wszystkich dostępnych pól z informacjami dotyczącymi danej grafiki. Jakość i rozmiar zdjęć na stronie internetowej

Umieszczając zdjęcie na stronie internetowej powinniśmy zadbać o to, aby jego jakość była jak najlepsza. Oznacza to jego dokładność i możliwość zrozumienia przedstawionych na nim elementów. Grafika o wysokiej jakości ma przewagę nad niedoskonałymi obrazami, które zawierają rozmycia lub nieostrości.
