African American Man 1/4 Ambrotype Black 1800s Unusual Photo Creepy Antique leather I don't see any other1 4 plate, 1850s ambrotype of a menacing looking man.. wearing dark makeup? And smoking a tinted pipe. Ambrotype is behind mat and cover glass. It's in good antique condition with some crazing craquelure in emulsion. The case cover are separated and the right rail on the image side is completely detached from the case. It looks partially attached in my scan, but it fell off.
