Yume Size:XS north of Marulan on theA painted stairwell tower marked with the kanji , "dream", stands between two vacant apartment blocks on an empty road in Yubari. Bare birch trees line the verge and snow patches remain on the asphalt. At its peak in 1960, Yubari held more than 107,000 residents; fewer than 6,000 remain today.
