Rok 2020 zbliża się ku końcowi, dlatego nadszedł najwyższy czas na podsumowanie tego, co w (już prawie) minionym roku miało największy wpływ na świat SEO oraz co prawdopodobnie będzie nas czekać w nowym 2021 roku – zaczynajmy!
Najważniejsze wydarzenia ze świata SEO w 2020 roku
Majowy Core Update
Aktualizacja algorytmów, o których mowa, weszła w życie 4 maja. Była to jedna z największych i dająca najbardziej się we znaki aktualizacja w tym roku.
Odczuli ją przedsiębiorcy z różnych branż — zaobserwowali oni spadek pozycji i ruchu w obrębie swojej witryny nawet o 50%.
Była to jedna z dłużej trwających aktualizacji, ponieważ skończyła się dopiero 18 maja — o czym zostaliśmy oficjalnie poinformowanie przez Google na jednym z portali społecznościowych.
Dużym probleme stanowi fakt, że nigdy nie zostały przedstawione konkretne wnioski, opisujące zmiany, które zostały wprowadzone wraz z aktualizacją. Uniemożliwia to naprawienie błędów, powodujących spadek widoczności oraz uniemożliwia dostosowanie się do nowych, aktualnych wymogów.
SEO w czasie pandemii
Wybuch pandemii nie ominął żadnej gałęzi gospodarki. Dotyczy się to również świata e-marketingu.
Sytuacja, w której się znaleźliśmy, wpłynęła na zmiany zachowań internautów w sieci oraz przyczyniła się do zmiany trendów ich zachowań. Ze względu na ciężką sytuację finansową, wiele przedsiębiorstw było zmuszonych do cięć budżetu przeznaczonego na marketing.
Pomimo tego, można było zaobserwować między innymi, wzrost udziału urządzeń mobilnych oraz zmianę popularności poszczególnych branż, w których można było zauważyć niespotykany do tej pory rekord wejść i wyświetleń. Należały do nich między innymi branża spożywcza i elektroniczna, a także sportowa.
Google Indexing Bug
Kolejna aktualizacja, która miała miejsce tym razem pod koniec września. Również w tym przypadku, właściciele stron zaczęli się skarżyć na spadek widoczności witryn, a specjaliści SEO zaczęli zgłaszać problemy dotyczące opóźnień związanych z indeksacją stron.
Znacząca zmiana dotknęła również jedno z podstawowych narzędzi, którym specjaliści posługują się na co dzień — podczas tej aktualizacji została im zabrana możliwość ręcznej indeksami stron z poziomu narzędzie Google Search Console. Co ważniejsze, możliwość ta nie została przywrócona do dnia dzisiejszego i prawdopodobnie, nigdy już nie wróci. (EDIT: 23.11. indeksacja podstron wróciła — nie wiadomo jednak czy na stałe, czy jest to chwilowe).
Linki w nowej odsłonie
W ubiegłym roku Google przygotowało wiele zmian odnośnie linków. W 2019 roku wprowadzone zostały między innymi specjalne atrybuty przeznaczone dla linków sponsorowanych rel=”sponsored” oraz linków pochodzących z forów rel=”ugc”. Wprowadzenie ich sprawiło, że stosowany do tej pory atrybut rel=”nofollow” stracił swoją ważność i stał się jedynie dla robotów wskazówką, a nie tak jak miało to miejsce wcześniej — wtyczką.
Zmiany w tym obszarze zostały wprowadzone 1 marca 2020 roku. Od tej daty, Google traktuje atrybut “nofollow” również jako wskazówkę dla robotów, w celu pobrania i indeksowania strony. Dla wielu webmasterów oznaczało to spory problem, ponieważ utrudniło to zarządzanie crawl budgetem.
Po wprowadzeniu tych zmian atrybut nofollow może nie działać już na tyle skutecznie w przypadku blokowania indeksacji niektórych stron, dlatego równolegle z nim należy stosować również inne praktyki.
Aktualizacja, za aktualizacją..
W tym roku Google nie oszczędziło nas, jeśli chodzi o aktualizację. Ostatnia aktualizacja algorytmów miała miejsce w grudniu. Rozpoczęła się dokładnie 3.12 i przyczyniła się do spadku widoczności niektórych witryn w SERP jednak nie dała się tak odczuć jej majowy odpowiednik. Na razie jednak jest za wcześnie, aby wysnuć jakiekolwiek dokładniejsze wnioski.
Co czeka nas w 2021 roku?
Wielu specjalistów jest zgodnych w tej kwestii – nadchodzący rok 2021 będzie dla marketingowców pełen wyzwań.
Spowodowane jest to między innymi tym, że nadal będziemy musieli zmagać się z konsekwencjami wybuchu pandemii. Z tego względu, można przypuszczać, że liczba przedsiębiorstw decydujących się na rozpoczęcie prowadzenia swoich działań w Internecie będzie sukcesywnie rosnąć.
Oznacza to wzrost konkurencji i konieczność zwiększenia wszelkich starań o zdobycie, i przyciągnięcie na swoją stronę potencjalnych klientów. Można się spodziewać kontynuacji w zmianach zachowania i zwyczajów zakupowych konsumentów w Internecie co może przekładać się na recesję w gospodarce.
Podsumowanie
Pomimo wielu trudności, z którymi przyszło nam się zmierzyć w 2020 roku, udało nam się stawić czoło wyzwaniom i sprostać oczekiwaniom równie naszym, jak i naszych klientów.
Odpowiednie indywidualnie dobrane do każdego z nich działania sprawiły, że większość naszych klientów kończy ten rok z uśmiechem na twarzy.
Nie wiemy, co przyniesie nam nowy 2021 rok, możemy tylko zapewnić, że dzięki współpracy i odpowiednim działaniom — uda nam się spełnić Państwa oczekiwania.
